About us

We don't hand over a product and disappear.

MVP1 Ventures is an Australian product engineering and AI firm. We scale software companies that already have customers, and we automate the businesses that run on software without selling it. Either way, we stay accountable for what the work is supposed to achieve commercially, not just for shipping it.

Why we exist

The standard model ends exactly where accountability should start.

Our founder, Jay Pandya, spent seventeen years inside enterprise and government technology, from 2001 to 2018, before starting MVP1. The pattern he kept seeing was not incompetence, it was a delivery model where the engagement finishes at handover. The software gets built, the invoice gets paid, and nobody is answerable for whether the thing actually worked as a business.

We were built the other way around. An engagement starts with the work the software is meant to change and the commercial outcome it is meant to produce, and it is judged against both. That is what we mean by human-first: not a statement about being pleasant to deal with, but about where the conversation begins.

It also means we will tell you when your roadmap is unrealistic, when a feature should be cut, and when the answer is to stabilise what you have rather than build something new. That is usually the least profitable advice we could give, and it is the reason clients stay.

Jay Pandya

Founder, MVP1 Ventures

Seventeen years in enterprise and government technology, then a decision that the architecture, security and delivery discipline he had been applying to large organisations was needed more by the companies that could not afford it, startups, scale-ups and owner-operated businesses with less margin to absorb a failure.

His argument has stayed consistent since: the businesses that win the next decade will not be the ones that built the best app. They will be the ones that designed a better business model and used software to run it. It is why our first conversation with a client is usually about their model and their numbers rather than their feature list.

Most IT companies hand you a product and disappear.

Jay writes and speaks regularly on platform business models, agentic AI and what it takes to reach product-market fit, on our podcast, in the resource library, and in Forbes Australia, Business Insider and Dynamic Business.

The team

Strategists, engineers and designers, across four time zones.

We are a multicultural team working from Brisbane, Sydney, Wilmington and Ahmedabad. That is deliberate, it gives our clients meaningful delivery coverage rather than a single working day, and it is why we can hold a predictable sprint cadence on products that cannot afford to go quiet.

The mix matters as much as the spread. Commercial strategy and financial modelling sit alongside product design and engineering in the same team, because the questions that sink a software business are rarely purely technical ones.

Our values

Five commitments that shape every engagement.

01

We own the outcome

Not the ticket, not the sprint, the outcome. If what we shipped did not do what it was supposed to do commercially, that is ours to answer for.

02

We tell you the inconvenient thing

When the roadmap will not hold, when a feature should be cut, when the honest answer is that less needs rebuilding than you were told. Agreeing with every date you propose is not partnership.

03

Smarter, not harder

The best engineering decision is often to build less. We look for the narrowest thing that proves the point, then scale what works, rather than the largest thing the budget allows.

04

We punch above our weight

A small, senior, collaborative team beats a large one with a thin layer of experience on top. Our clients get the people who actually made the decisions, not an account manager relaying them.

05

Impact you can bank

Margin, capacity, valuation. If we cannot draw a line from the work to one of those three, we will say so before you spend the money.

How we work

Three commitments that protect you.

01

Predictable costs

A steady cost model, not a one-off quote that assumes nothing about your business or the technology will change.

02

Built to keep evolving

We build for a landscape that changes daily. The plan evolves with your business and the technology, instead of locking you to a scope drawn up months ago.

03

You own everything

Code, IP and assets from day one. Owned assets run cleaner and lift your valuation.

Outcomes

Outcomes we can stand behind

Real clients, kept confidential.

+250%MRR growth after we re-engineered an electronic signature platform
3 → 12Centres for a transport & logistics platform, 400% growth
7–8h → 90mOnboarding for an NDIS & aged care provider, with AI agents
Idea → $600KARR on our own SaaS venture

Certified

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified.

Most firms our size talk about security. We are independently audited on it. Our Information Security Management System is certified for the design, development, deployment, maintenance and support of custom software products, SaaS and marketplace platforms, mobile applications, AI-driven automation services, and go-to-market solutions, including the client data, cloud environments, development infrastructure and delivery processes behind them.

If you operate under NDIS, aged care, health or APRA obligations, that certification is the difference between us telling you we handle your data properly and us being able to evidence it.

Our venture

BlackVault™

For government, healthcare and financial services clients who cannot send data to a US-domiciled AI platform, we built BlackVault, private, sovereign AI infrastructure that runs inside the client's own environment. The data never leaves, every action is logged, and the capability is owned rather than rented.
